Abacus Solicitors counts on SOS for practice and case management.

Young, ambitious and fast-growing Abacus Solicitors has decided to standardise on SOS Connect from Solicitors Own Software to gain the efficiencies of running one integrated case and practice management system throughout the firm.

Founded five years ago, Abacus has offices in Manchester City Centre and Stockton Heath providing a range of cost-effective services including personal injury, property and family law. One of the drivers for the timing of the new case management system is to be ready to comply with the proposed new Ministry of Justice rules for low value personal injury claims in road traffic accidents.

Practice manager Sandra Owen said: “We are committed to using up-to-date technology and to provide a highly efficient service to clients. It just makes sense to use the same supplier for case management and the accounts. It will greatly improve the availability of information and standardise business practices in the firm.”

Abacus is also taking advantage of SOS’ subscription model which is based on a cost per user per month. “As we continue to grow,” added Sandra Owen, “it will be very easy and inexpensive to add users and to budget IT expenses accurately.”

David McNamara, managing director of SOS said: “We introduced a subscription payment model to help firms avoid incurring an upfront capital cost during these credit crunch times. All costs for software, data conversion, training, implementation and support are wrapped into a fixed, monthly per user subscription. We are very pleased that Abacus has chosen to grow their business with SOS.”
